Orpheus (Sound and Perception)

Strength in Silence

Orpheus did not charm stones and rivers through emotion.

He tuned attention.

Sound was used as a technology of perception—
to steady the nervous system,
to synchronize breath,
to alter mental states without intoxication.

What later cultures called “magic”
was disciplined sensory control.

Music was training.

Silence was mastery.
